POSITION OVERVIEW

Operator will run internal grinding machines and perform the grinding operations necessary to produce finished parts to specified print tolerances.

JOB DESCRIPTION (Key Responsibilities)

• Operates multiple machines simultaneously.  Manually loads units with parts and removes parts from unloading trays.
• Uses a limited variety of gauges, such as air, mechanical, plug and runout, to inspect parts running on all units.  Will chart SPC data as required.
• Must be able to read part prints.
• Gauges a high percentage of finished parts and makes machine adjustments accordingly to maintain specified print tolerances.  Gauging pertains to controlling size, taper, runout, etc.
• Changes grinding wheels and turns diamond when necessary.
• Completes all associated clerical reporting.
• Performs miscellaneous related duties such as material handling and machine lubrication.
• Keeps machinery and work area in a clean and orderly condition.

• Adhere to all Export, Import and Supply Chain Security Policy requirement relevant to the position
• Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs
• Adhere to ISO 9100 Standards

• Education: High School Education or GED
• Experience: None

• Computer Skill:
  • Personal Computer
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proficient with the Internet
• Above average verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to get along with others
• Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment
• Regular attendance
