Position Summary
The primary function of the Online Business Development Lead is to be responsible for driving growth and identifying new business development opportunities for the Samsung Electronics New Zealand’s Online Business. Key responsibilities include managing major partnerships, launching business initiatives, and exploring untapped markets and new payment providers. You will optimise current practices, track partner performance, and improve customer engagement. Additionally, the Online Business Manager is responsible for streamlining processes, localising projects, and implementing insights to drive business development, while staying updated with industry trends.
Role and Responsibilities
Sales Growth Opportunity
- Develop short-term and long-term growth strategies through exploring new or untapped opportunities and driving demand generation.
- Key accounts partnership management (e.g. AIA, Countdown, Airpoint, ASB, UniDAYS, etc).
- Drive new business initiatives (e.g. Sell-out Platform, Price Promise, Pricing Match, SMB/EPP expansion, Student Engagement).
- Explore untapped markets that are not covered by current retailers.
- Recruit new strategic/sizable partners.
- Define business opportunities and come up with an actionable plan through thorough review of the effectiveness of current practices.
- Explore new payment providers and finalise a better commercial deal.
- Pitch and convince partners to engage with us.
- Develop/Enhance EPP, SMB Portal, Airpoint Mall Operation.
- Track strategic partners' performance and engage with them where necessary.
Process Improvement
- Lead overall CEJ improvement (look and feel) and improve customer engagement, collaborating with SEAO Spoke and COEC team as well as Cheil.
- Establish process and procedures when new initiatives or projects are implemented.
- Implement HQ/RHQ driven projects, localising them from internal processing and organise R&R between teams as and when is necessary.
- Streamline existing processes through interacting with various stakeholders, not only internal but also external.
- Manage and implement projects to enhance the customer experience by gathering detailed business requirements and document deliverables.
- Act as the project lead on operational initiatives with service providers and introduce innovative advancements to maintain a competitive edge in growing multi-channel operation.
- Work closely with a platform manager for implementing new initiatives and projects.
Business Analysis
- Create/maintain various analysis reports and identify the areas of business development.
- Drive the implementation of insights and recommendations within the organisation.
- Maintains awareness and keeps up to date with best practice, trends and market information through extensive research.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications
- Degree qualified preferable.
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Negotiation and stakeholder management experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Strong Excel analysis skills.
