About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Okta Platform Lead & Innovator to lead the strategic vision and execution of our identity and access management initiatives. This role will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and user-friendly Okta solutions to support our rapidly growing global workforce. You will be at the forefront of integrating AI-driven automation and advanced workflows while managing and mentoring a team of Okta administrators.

What you will do
- Establish practical and working knowledge of Abnormal’s technical platforms, business processes, interact with key business partners to recommend solutions that improve employee effectiveness and processes
- Prepare and manage an intake process to capture all stakeholder needs, translate requirements into cutting-edge solutions, design, build, deploy while tracking all work in a reportable way represented via proper dashboards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT End User Experience, IT ServiceNow Platform, IT End User Platforms, Security, HR, and various business functions to ensure seamless delivery of solutions to support the entirety of the Abnormal business
- Responsible for forecasting software spend while understanding the current state, assessing future needs, and estimating costs associated with upgrades, replacements, and growth of all IT platforms
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT IAM Platforms, support tools and services
- Define, implement, and track KPIs that gauge the effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction of IT services while continually identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Lead the IT IAM Platforms team as tier 3 escalation for end user support with the expected result in the resolution fully documented and/or automation put in place to prevent similar problems from being escalated again
Platform Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute a roadmap for Okta’s adoption and optimization, aligning it with business goals and future growth.
GenAI Integration
- Enable AI-driven features and workflows within Okta, enhancing process automation, quality management, reporting , and service delivery efficiency across the organization.
Platform Optimization
- Continuously monitor and improve platform performance, scalability, and user experience, ensuring it meets the highest standards for business-critical applications.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and manage junior Okta administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Partner with IT, Security, HR, and business leaders to deliver seamless identity and access management solutions.
Vendor Management
- Oversee relationships with Okta and related vendors to maximize ROI and ensure alignment with organizational needs.
Systems Integration
- Lead complex integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, ERP) to enable unified data flows and user experiences.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in Okta platform development, configuration, and architecture.
- Okta Certified Consultant
- Strong knowledge of IAM protocols (e.g., SAML, SCIM, OAuth).
- Expertise in automating IAM processes using Okta Workflows or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Strong understanding of business processes and concepts such as “birth right” application access/authentication.
- Proven experience in platform integrations, including APIs and web services.
- Demonstrated proficiency in securing and optimizing Okta applications and data structures.
- Experience with Workday as the “source of truth” and experience with ServiceNow
Nice to Have
- Okta Certified Architect & Okta Certified Workflows
- Experience with advanced Okta modules, including Identity Threat Protection, AMFA, Workflows
- Familiarity with ITIL v4 or other IT governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform.
- Strong project management capabilities, with experience in agile methodologies.

$170,000—$200,000 USD
