Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Procurement Project Specialist in our Counterbalance Development Center (CBDC) located in the Portland, Oregon area. Hyster-Yale Materials Handling designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. HYMH is looking for an energetic individual who is well suited to work in a dynamic team environment where they would be required to work effectively with individuals with a broad range of responsibilities and who will have a positive influence on the organization and the success of our future products. This individual will provide CBDC staff level purchasing, research, and support services. The specialist in this position will focus on product design and development processes.
Duties include:
- Support engineering and procurement prototype sourcing and ordering
- Support shop activities including MRO/supply replenishment, special orders, and 5S initiatives
- Evaluate suppliers, including local fabrication and machine shops, for competence and ability to meet CBDC development schedules
- Maintain a level of technical competence which will enable strategic evaluation of engineering, manufacturing, and quality systems of suppliers
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of, and comfort with, mechanical and fabrication principles and practices
- Two years minimum experience in business procurement, industrial experience preferred
- General understanding of engineering drawings
- Familiar with purchase orders and data entry processes in SRM/SAP
- Skill in negotiating and communicating with suppliers and internal customers e.g., engineers, mechanics, and technicians
- Ability to keep multiple projects moving simultaneously
- Skilled user of Microsoft Office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
