You'll be building one of the fastest and smoothest whole home wireless networks in America so that users can experience the future of wireless broadband because we know that your wireless in-home connection can never be too fast enough.
Role Description
This role at GFiber is not just testing the existing Wireless products, but also evaluating new wireless products (CPE) and associated features. You will be responsible for the test strategy, design and execution of new test cases to evaluate the new Wi-Fi products and features as well as testing the existing deployed products. You will also be the technical point of contact for all vendors for any new Wi-Fi product development. The role also involves evaluating new Wi-Fi test equipment in the lab and customizing new test cases for different Wi-Fi use case scenarios.
You'll have a huge impact on the daily quality of GFiber's growing suite of products and services.
In this role, you'll:
- Develop test strategies for GFiber systems, networking devices and CPE products.
- Develop and build automation framework including debugging/triaging automation failures.
- Work collaboratively with the architecture team to evaluate/test and release the next generation networking products. (SME for QA).
- Work cross functionally with Supply Chain/SRE/Field teams and third party vendors to triage and resolve field issues (e.g. firmware release, patches for field issues etc.)
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Networking or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in testing, troubleshooting, automating networking devices especially CPE, networking related enterprise applications in QA Capacity.
- 2 years of experience in Automation coding with Java or Python.
- Experience of WiFi standards and networking technologies as used in the CPE networking devices and FTTH Network components.
It's preferred if you have:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in testing/releasing network products in continuous delivery models. CPE device experience preferred with hardware/firmware/software stack testing.
- 3 years of automation infrastructure/framework design/development and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience in working with SRE/Field teams in replicating/triaging and resolving customer issues. Specifically troubleshooting L2/L3 protocols (e.g. DHCP, BNG, AAA etc)
- Experience in investigating and troubleshooting network issues identified during testing.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $152,000 - $167,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
