Job Description

The Booker National Account Manager will develop and manage the commercial delivery of the Booker account, responsible for the total internal and customer P&L, including forecasting, promo evaluation and developing commercial propositions across a number of buyers. 

This role gives autonomy and accountability to manage the Booker account and identify opportunities both commercially and in terms of process to drive growth both for JDE and Booker. The role takes ownership of customer relationships, balancing the external customer requirements with the support of a cross functional team including category, shopper marketing and supply chain.

The National Account Manager will be fully responsible for the account management life cycle.

This role is office based minimum 2 days a week in the office and will require regular customer visits.

Responsibilities;

  • The delivery of Booker P&L; encompassing agreed volume, NSV, GP & GP% measures 
  • Leading contact plan in Booker and establishing collaborative relationships to maximum breadth and depth so that business planning is optimised
  • Identifying Booker strategic focus areas, feeds insight into the category & marketing teams
  • Regular connection and alignment with the Tesco Group Controller and Tesco team to deliver sustainable and profitable growth plans across all elements of Booker
  • Execution of range, promotion and activation priorities across Booker
  • Accurately forecasts volume and value sales and profit by month and tracks customer margin.
  • Negotiating pricing, promotions and annual terms agreements
  • Understanding of Category, Market, Customer and Consumer dynamics
  • Negotiation of NPD listings & distribution extensions for existing products
  • Promotional Evaluation
  • Leadership of Internal Business Planning & stakeholder management
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Proven UK Account Management experience in a retail FMCG brand environment, preferably having experience of Booker or both retail and wholesale
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work with others to deliver a specific customer strategy
  • Ability to demonstrate NSV growth achievement and a strong ability/restlessness to seek out further growth
  • The nature of this role requires experience in business development and account management capability, strong commercial acumen, networking capability and cross-functional relationship building skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, lack of data and at ease with difficult and demanding customer conversations
