We are seeking a results-driven leader to drive the growth of our North American organization in key growth areas. The Business Development VP for North America will be accountable for driving the growth in certain markets by proactively engaging with key stakeholders to understand the biggest challenges of these markets, identifying with the stakeholders scalable solutions, and working with the rest of the commercial team to convert these solutions into contracts at scale. Responsibilities:

• Lead the company efforts to grow in some of the North American key growth markets such as the grid and the data center markets. • Engage very proactively with customers, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders both at the Executive and Management levels to understand the biggest challenges of these markets for the next 10 years. • Bring together customers, regulators, and other internal and stakeholders to define actionable market solutions to these challenges deployable in the short-term at scale, whether it is through the deployment of specific technology, introduction of new business models, creation of partnerships, etc. • Work with key customers and partners to identify existing impactful projects, or create with customers new and impactful projects in which Hitachi Energy could become a key partner during the life cycle of the project, from planning or operation and maintenance, and bring unique value to the projects. • Bring together customers, regulators, and other internal and stakeholders to define the market solutions actionable in the medium-term, and drive the groundwork with all stakeholders to be ready to deploy them in the medium-term. • Influence external and internal stakeholders to demonstrate the value of these solutions in order to accelerate their adoption. • Work with the commercial and technical teams to convert the solutions immediately deployable into real projects in order to contribute to some of the biggest energy challenges in North America. • This person needs to be a thought leader and a doer, able to navigate very comfortably between strategic thinking not bounded by historical norms, and practical executions and delivery of commercial results. • Represent Hitachi Energy externally in various forums and engagement with external stakeholders.

Your Background:

• Bachelor's degree required, MBA is a plus. • Deep understanding of the energy industry, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, key stakeholders and emerging trends. • Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience including several years in strategy, partnership and/or business development roles. • Proven experience and track record in defining and executing growth strategies, both traditional and innovative, on topics including go to market, new business models and partnership. • Drive to have an important impact on the energy market by solving at scale some of its biggest challenges of the next 10 years. 2/2 • Ability to navigate with ease from macro trends analysis to rigorous execution of strategies and partnerships at the operational level. • Technical knowledge a plus: latest technologies and innovations in the energy sector, such as renewable energy, smart grids, and energy storage solutions. • Global perspective: experience working in a global or multinational environment, with the ability to navigate cultural differences and manage cross-border projects. • Change management experience: experience in leading organizational change initiatives, with a focus on driving cultural transformation and fostering a growth mindset. • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with various departments to achieve strategic goals. • Proven ability to drive collaboration across teams not directly within the reporting structure. • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills including senior management communication. • Experience working with indirect channels would be highly desirable. • Proven team leadership skills. • Must be skilled at selling compelling, integrated strategies to internal and external stakeholders. • Should be customer-centric, out of the box thinker, solutions-focused, articulate, and comfortable building relationships at executive levels. • Travel: This role requires 50% travel within North America. • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
