Are you an experienced mining professional with a passion for applying innovative solutions to solve complex challenges in mineral processing? Join our EM IS Minerals Processing team in Kazakhstan as a Mining Application Specialist and play a crucial role in driving business growth in key mineral sectors including Precious (Gold, Silver), Base (Copper, Nickel), and Phosphate Rock.
Position Purpose:
As a Mining Application Specialist, you'll accelerate the growth of Solenis’ product portfolio by providing advanced technical and commercial applications support to customers. This role will be critical in the product stage-gate process, needs discovery, solution ideation, validation, and product launch.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Provide on-site service, including applications testing, with a focus on solid-liquid separation, scale deposition, defoamers, and grinding aids
✅ Support the commercial team with proposals, technical reports, and trial documentation
✅ Target new business opportunities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan
✅ Work closely with the sales, business development, R&D, and equipment teams to solve customer challenges
✅ Ensure the highest safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment
✅ Develop and maintain relationships with customers, field staff, and internal teams
✅ Learn and support the commercial team in expanding the mining portfolio
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Technical/Scientific Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in mining, minerals processing, or related fields
✔️ Experience: At least 5 years in precious and base minerals processing, specifically in process reagents for mineral beneficiation
✔️ Industry Experience: 5 years of experience in water or a related industry is a plus
✔️ Skills: Strong knowledge of minerals beneficiation processes, including concentration, scale control, and tailings management
✔️ Languages: Fluency in Kazakh, Russian, and English (other regional languages are a plus)
✔️ Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
✔️ Travel: Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
