Linklaters LLP seeks Mid-Level Associate, Tax Practice Group in New York, NY to perform legal research, draft legal memoranda and briefs on issues of tax law arising in a broad range of matters. Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: performing legal research and drafting legal memoranda and briefs on issues of tax law including U.S. federal income tax consequences of taxable and tax-free reorganizations, spin-off transactions or other corporate transactions undertaken by U.S. or multinational corporations; drafting and reviewing legal agreements, contracts, and other corporate documents including U.S. federal income tax provisions in private placement memoranda and limited partnership agreements, sale and purchase agreements, credit agreements involving U.S. and non-U.S. borrowers, and recommending any amendments to U.S. tax provisions to the counterparty’s tax counsel; advising clients, on the U.S. Federal income tax considerations of U.S. and cross-border private equity transactions, capital markets transactions, bank financings, debt and equity offerings, and mergers and acquisitions; preparing analyses of corporation’s debt-to-equity ratio and analyzing the income statement and balance sheet of U.S. and non-U.S. corporations. Must be admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Telecommuting and/or working from home is permissible. When not telecommuting, must report to the worksite. Offered salary is between $272,418 and $365,000 per year. 40 hours per week.
