Position: Software Engineer MES

Location: Hybrid from our offices in Madrid or in Paris

 

About the job

We are looking for a MES Software Engineer with a Degree in Engineering (Computer Science/Information Technology preferred). The right candidate will have full software development life cycle experience.

 

In this role you will be fully customer facing and will be responsible for the solution fit to customer requirements to deliver business value.

As a Software Engineer, you will be a member of the delivery services group that exclusively works on delivering world class Manufacturing Execution Systems based on AVEVA MES to manufacturing customers. We cater to various manufacturing industries and processes including Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, Discrete Manufacturing, Specialty Chemicals and Life Sciences.

 

Responsibilities

Technical Solutions:

• Contribute to and implement reference architectures through technical and design oversight for project teams in the Region;

• Identify, adopt, and curate reusable engineering components and templates from ongoing projects. Ensure fit for purpose functionality, quality and documentation, with support their use by regional teams and delivery partners;

• Ensure transfer of mature elements of reusable components and templates into R&D, and the ensuing adoption of those elements back into the templates upon release;

• Provide guidance on 3rd party products that are anticipated to be used within technical solutions.

 

System Integrator/Partner Support:

• Ensure partners are adequately supported enabled to sell and deliver solutions in collaboration with the regional delivery teams;

• Works with regional delivery teams and Solution Architects to provide success consulting services as part of partner led projects;

• Ensures quality of partner work through audits and escalation support in support of customer satisfaction;

• Onshore/Offshore resourcing;

• Drive processes and methodology to balance Onshore/Offshore resourcing within MES projects, in accordance with Global Services targets;

• Provide guidance to regional delivery teams regarding work break down and packages between regional and SDC teams;

• Ensure adequate competency and resource availability within SDC to meet expected backlog/frontlog needs.

 

Competency Development and Knowledge Management

• Define needed competencies and skills for regional teams and delivery partners for successful delivery of technical solutions;

• Arrange for appropriate training and certification on those competencies for regional teams and partners;

• Document and maintain best practices for technical solutions;

• Other responsibilities as needed.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has experience with Production Scheduling and Optimization, Production Sequencing, Order Execution, Genealogy and Traceability, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), ERP Integration, Production Quality and Automation.

Any Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Warehouse Management experience is a plus.

 

• C# or VB .NET Programming;

• Web Programming (JavaScript, CSS, JSON, JQuery, Web API, HTML5, REST API);

• Database Programming (SQL);

• Report Writing (SQL Server Reporting Services).

• Experience in building MES solutions with experience demonstrating strong leadership skills in project executions is a plus;

• Industrial Automation & Networking is a plus;

• Solid understanding of SCADA solutions is a plus;

• Expert in MES Solutions;

Experience with the following AVEVA / Wonderware software is a big plus:

• AVEVA MES

• AVEVA System Platform

• AVEVA Work Tasks (Skelta BPM)

• AVEVA Enterprise Integrator

• AVEVA InTouch and/or OMI.
