Toast is looking for a Merchant Compliance Analyst. In this role you will review customer accounts for any card brand rule breaches, engage in conversations with customers, and help develop Toast's Merchant Compliance program. Your role is to guard against breaking card brand rules, Toast's policies, and agreements with processors. You'll also provide useful suggestions to the Fraud and Risk Team and others to improve Toast's merchant compliance program.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • Monitor queues of customers with possible violations, rule out false positives, and identify when a case needs to be escalated to the manager
  • Deliver a best-in-class, truly delightful experience to Toast restaurants and prospects through successful communication (both written and verbal)
  • Conduct basic investigations of cases requiring extra attention
  • Become an expert when it comes to Toast’s merchant compliance programs
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing procedures and methodology
  • Assist in monthly metric reporting
  • Provide feedback to Data Analyst on data sets and rules
  • Serve as an escalation point for multiple Toast teams

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • 0-2 years experience with customer service, investigations, and data 
  • Customer-focused with top-notch written and verbal communication skills - previous experience speaking with merchants/customers over the phone would set this candidate apart
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work within tight deadlines
  • An inquisitive nature, someone who wants to explore variances, and understand root causes
  • Ability to work proficiently in a dynamic, changing environment, and to adapt while focusing on key goals and objectives with minimal oversight

  • Previous experience working in payments and or compliance related role - not required, but a major plus
