Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our North America Grid Integration Business Unit. This is an exciting time to join our team as we experience tremendous growth in EV charging systems, high voltage direct current projects, power consulting, power quality solutions, and more. As part of the Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) team, you will work with Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) technology, enabling power system owners to increase capacity and improve electrical stability with minimal environmental impact. How You'll Make an Impact
- Ensure engineering is developed with complete multidisciplinary information.
- Lead the development of new solutions for complex projects.
- Drive the completion of all engineering activities on projects.
- Coordinate the mechanical engineering discipline across several projects.
- Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Create work plans and cost estimates, ensuring quality deliverables.
- Interact directly with customers, officials, contractors, and supply chain.
- Work with electro-mechanical or primary/physical design for Power Quality Solutions.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of National Electric Code and ANSI/IEEE requirements.
- Knowledge of FACTS and/or high voltage substations.
- Experience with BIM/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Revit 3D modeling.
