Mechanical Integrity/Quality Assurance Leader

The DuPont Water Solutions business is seeking an experienced candidate to serve as a Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) Leader at the Midland, Michigan site. The MIQA Leader provides technical expertise and managing processes for the organization on all matters concerning MIQA so that process equipment is installed, maintained and operated in a safe and reliable manner.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Understand corporate, regional and local jurisdictional MIQA requirements and drive programs to ensure compliance. This will include networking with the other DuPont MIQA Leads to ensure we have a consistent approach across sites.
• Track, document and communicate MIQA metrics.
• Ensure all PSM Critical equipment has a test & inspection plan (predictive and preventive maintenance). These tests & inspection plans shall address the reason(s) the equipment is classified as PSM Critical and follow applicable RAGAGEPs.
• Lead or participate in repair/improvement projects as required for PSM Critical equipment. This can include:
  • Leading or participating in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) or incident investigations
  • Performing or arranging physical failure analysis as required
  • Performing reliability analysis and identifying improvement opportunities
• Provide training to site resources on MIQA or MIQA related topics
• Support site resources with QA plan generation
• Review and authorize MOCs with impact on PSM Critical equipment, from a MIQA perspective
• Perform or participate in 1st Party PSM audits with a focus on MIQA
• Participate in 2nd & 3rd party audits as the MIQA resource
• Review and update site MIQA procedures
• Network with other MIQA resources for learnings and leveraging to drive compliance and optimize the program
• Maintain Site MIQA Manual
• Serve as the site SAP-PM focal point
• Evaluate effectiveness of individual aspects of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and PPM
• Assist reliability engineer in evaluation of Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) activities and determining appropriate action
• Lead small projects focused on maintenance and reliability improvements of PSM critical equipment
• Monitor execution of all aspects of MIQA per the standard for the DuPont Water Solutions assets

Minimum Requirements

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work as a team member in a respectful manner in a diverse work environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence management
• Experience working with Microsoft® Office (particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Experience with software systems including SAP and Meridium™ (GE – APM: specifically Inspection Management, Thickness Monitoring and the Risk Based Inspection module)

Preferred Skills

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
• 5 years or more experience in a chemical plant (or related industry) with a focus on MIQA, reliability and/or PSM.
• Fixed Equipment Design Experience (Pressure Vessel Design)
• Knowledge of maintenance, reliability, MIQA and PSM best practices.
• Knowledge of various predictive technologies (i.e. vibration analysis, oil sampling, ultrasonics, thermography).
• Experience with Risk Based Inspection, including API 580 certification.
