The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for improving current equipment and developing new systems to support and enhance Cepheid production lines. By joining the Engineering team, you will be the technical partner of both local and global engineering projects.

This position is part of the Manufacturing Engineering team and will be located in Solna. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design (SolidWorks), develop, prototype, test and qualify new equipment.
• Work with multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Interact with cross-functional teams and management.
• Support production by troubleshooting critical production processes and equipment.
• Be part of an international, dynamic and engaged team.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience from working in a global production regulated environment (ISO, GMP, CE marking)
• Be familiar with process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and risk analysis methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English and Swedish

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Filling processes
• Pneumatic / electro-mechanic
• Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology
