About the Position

Engineer performs engineering studies, design, and project management activities for new and existing power generation plant systems.  This position has primary responsibility for supporting Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear plants with travel required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and/or support projects involving industrial mechanical systems and related field components.
  • Develop engineering solutions, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary designs associated with initial development and budgeting of projects. Upon project authorization, perform detailed design and work with drafting to complete drawings, prepare requisitions and specifications for equipment and construction contracts, analyze proposals, produce cost and schedule estimates, and assist or lead in the planning and coordination of projects.
  • Manage construction activities and lead the checkout and start-up of the new equipment.
  • Provide engineering/project management assistance to energy centers and other departments within the company.
  • Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred. Depending on experience all engineering disciplines may be considered. Three or more years of relevant engineering experience preferred. PE License preferred and/or PMP certificate preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proficiency with MS Office Suite; knowledge of Ameren-specific applications and practices; good problem solving, analytical skills, decision-making and communication skills; ability to adapt and be flexible; strong attention to detail; ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team; and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic

Compensation Range:

$69,300.00 - $133,900.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
