THE ROLE & THE TEAM

​Zalando Gift Cards are the perfect gift for friends, family or for any corporate incentive like loyalty programs and employee rewards. We are a cross-functional unit, integrated in Zalando’s Digital Experience department, which executes global gift card marketing and sales strategy across Europe. Our goal is to provide our end consumers with a perfect gifting experience and to build up long-lasting cooperations with our partners and customers across Europe. The Gift Cards team is structured into 3 channels - B2B, B2C, and Retail. 

As Marketing Manager for the Giftcards Team, you will own the marketing calendar of our D2C channel marketing activities and the stakeholder management related to these initiatives as well as quality controlling for correct implementation. This includes collaborating with the Markets teams to align the Gift Cards marketing calendar with the Zalando Global Marketing Calendar into global and local campaigns, social media plans, upper- and mid-funnel content, and influencer activations where relevant and executing on that. You will participate actively in Zalando’s marketing community to stay updated on best practices and bring strategies to the Gift Cards business. You will also be a key contributor to our testing set up around Paid Marketing to define our future strategy.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders:Collaborate with Gift Card Commercial and Product teams to create engaging creative assets for all Gift Card channels (DTC, Retail, B2B), including homepage content, occasion imagery, and demo videos.

  • Always-On and Campaign-Specific Assets: Provide translated imagery and copy for partner platforms across all languages for always-on initiatives (partner links), campaigns (e.g., "Buy a Zalando Gift Card and get a €10 Sports voucher"), and seasonal campaigns (e.g., "This Easter, gift a Zalando Gift Card").

  • Asset Library Creation: Create a monthly self-service creative library for B2B and Retail partners with editable assets and branding guidelines, including logo usage. This will streamline processes, save internal capacity, and involves exploring integration and efficiency with the BIC Production team.

  • Performance Testing: Partner with channel leads to design and execute tests, identifying the most effective creative assets, CTAs, and storytelling approaches while adhering to Zalando’s brand guidelines.

  • Continuous Improvement: Establish regular routines to review test results and implement action steps for ongoing optimization.

This requires a forward-thinking approach, actively monitoring performance metrics, analyzing potential pain points, and proposing innovative solutions. It involves not just reacting to problems but anticipating and preventing them.

  • Awareness of market trends: Staying informed about the latest developments, innovations, and shifts in the relevant industry and broader market landscape. This includes understanding competitor activities, emerging technologies, changing consumer preferences, and potential disruptions. This awareness allows for informed strategic decision-making and the identification of new opportunities and potential threats.

  • Continuous learning mindset: A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, actively seeking new knowledge and skills, and adapting to evolving circumstances. This involves being open to feedback, embracing experimentation, and viewing mistakes as learning opportunities.
