Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing Analytics Director to lead a team of 3-4 specialized data analytics professionals. This team is crucial in driving marketing decisions and optimizing results to uniquely serve our customers and communities. Lead analytics for all marketing channels, including direct mail, digital marketing, traditional media, email marketing, and web analytics.
Key Responsibilities of the Team:
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze marketing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Test Designs and Hypothesis Testing: Create and implement A/B tests, multivariate tests, and other experimental designs to evaluate marketing strategies.
- Design of Experiments (DOE): Plan and conduct experiments to optimize marketing campaigns and strategies.
- Hypothesis Testing: Leverage hypothesis testing to measure campaign incremental performance.
- Data Visualization: Create dashboards and visualizations using BI tools like Tableau or Power BI to communicate findings.
- Collaboration: Work with marketing teams to understand their needs and provide data-driven recommendations.
Success in this role will look like:
- Understands how their team’s work connects to the strategy of the bank
- Able to build endearing partnerships with key business partners
- Delivering accurate, complete, and timely test designs and reporting
- Improve test design and reporting rigor and efficiency through automation
- Consolidation of dashboards, creation of self-serve reporting options
Required Experience:
- Master’s Degree or MBA, preferably in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, economics, engineering).
- 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum of four years of supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in SAS, Python, or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Strong skills in SQL for querying databases and extracting data.
- Experience with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI for data visualization.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and hypothesis testing.
- Expertise in designing and analyzing experiments (DOE).

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $150,466.11 - $250,776.86 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
