Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster unity and collaboration between the Harvest Market and UMMA’s broader mission
  • Manage scheduling to support market hours, transitioning to a full-time schedule. ​
  • Promote a positive, inclusive work culture focused on teamwork and professionalism
  • Uphold policies and maintain clear communication and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and safety standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment that meets health code standards ​
  • Align food selections with community needs, promoting fresh, nutritious options. ​
  • Collaborate on partnerships to expand market offerings​

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Public Health, Community Development, or a related discipline
  • Additional certifications or training in food safety and handling may be beneficial
  •  3 – 5 years’ experience in program management, preferably in a community service or food market setting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills​
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Experience with scheduling and managing both part-time and full-time staff​
  • Knowledge of food handling and safety standards
  • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive work culture​
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders ​
  • Commitment to developing and maintaining positive community relationships ​
