Your impact
As a Manufacturing Engineer within the Production Engineering team, you will collaborate with production technicians, as well as hardware and software engineers and the entire operations team to ensure Intelsat's manufacturing processes are world-class in order to support production facilities across the globe. Our goal is to make sure that Intelsat Inflight is installed on as many aircraft as possible and our team is the bridge between operations and the rest of the company. Our department allows the operations team to function as efficiently as possible at executing demand without having to worry about availability of infrastructure.
What you will do
- Support the relocation of our EMEA operational facility in the Netherlands by ensuring all necessary processes have been optimized for our new, larger facility.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of the operation (production, shipping, receiving, inspection and material handling)
- Lead the effort to complete documentation of all Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs).
- Ensure that all operational documentation remains up to date, which allows the Amsterdam facility to remain accredited for all ISO and EASA certifications needed to handle and ship airborne product.
- Introducing new technologies into the operation that aren't just airborne products (IoT terminal solutions, RFID implementation, etc.)
- Supporting process uniformity across all worldwide production sites.
Your required experience/skills
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related technology field
- 0-3 years of experience in an operational environment
- Ability to travel 0-10%, mainly internationally.
- Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
- Innate ability to explain complex processes to individuals of different backgrounds.
- Manages multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy, detail, and quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated; able to function independently and work as a team member.
