Principal Logistics Specialist

Your impact
As a Principal Logistics Specialist, you will play a vital role in a team of Production Operations and Logistics professionals to help shipping, monitor transport and control the distribution of Intelsat Inflight internet components in compliance with international import/export rules, trad compliance and incoterms. Main regions you will be supporting are EMEA and APAC.
What you will do

• Assure the transportation/distribution of Intelsat products at the right place, right time, and right cost
• Manage inventory through ItemAware (our warehouse management system)
• Collaborating with a third-party logistics (3PL) company to handle aspects of logistics, distribution, and supply chain management. A 3PL provider offers services such as warehousing, inventory management, transportation, order fulfillment, and shipping. Your goal is to streamline operations, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and allow the business to focus on its core activities while the 3PL provider manages the logistics and delivery process.
• Execute and coordinate all shipping activities at Intelsat locations in EMEA and APAC
• Prepare shipment and, if needed, customs documentation. Ensure strict compliance to import/export rules
• Coordinate distribution of international freight and exported goods
• Collaborate with and contribute to continuous improvement projects
• Understand and assist with any transport/distribution transactions and data recording required for Intelsat's products
• Oversee the timely delivery of goods, maintain delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure deliveries are met
• Update and provide tracking information to customers as well as to internal departments
• Analyze delivery costs and recommend cost-effective methods of transportation
• Strong EU domestic and/or export EU experience is most relevant for this position
• Support contract negotiations with outside transportation companies, handle customer complaints, and investigate delivery issues. These may include damaged products and late or lost deliveries
• Provide proposals for adjustments, improvements, extensions, etc.
• Assist with customer (internal) quality audits and other audits, if applicable
• Cooperate in the efficiency of daily operations and management of the entire warehousing facility
• Work with and analyze Windows Dynamics Navision
• Plan, classify, execute, and monitor (coordinating) the work to be carried out on storage and distribution of Intelsat products.
• Execute all kind of logistics activities for Intelsat Netherlands, like warehousing, distribution and inventory management.

Your required experience/skills

• A completed MBO training of level 4 or
• Ability to speak and write in English language
• 3-5 years of work experience in a logistics environment
• 3 years of work experience in Aerospace
• Live within 40km range of Intelsat AMS location, Schiphol-Rijk
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite mainly in Excel and PowerPoint
