Lucid is looking for an experienced legal and compliance professional to join our legal team. This role will help develop and operate two of Lucid’s key legal programs – Ethics & Compliance and Internal Investigations. Experience in at least one of these areas is required; experience in both is highly desired. 
 
You Will:

  • Lead, mature, manage and facilitate Lucid’s global, cross-departmental internal investigation program  
  • Accountable for the internal investigations process, and overseeing the company’s reporting helpline and case management system 
  • Strengthen partnerships with Human Resources, Employee Relations, Legal, Safety and all other investigative partners through alignment of process, training, programmatic support and collaboration in joint investigations 
  • Ensure timely and appropriate case management and present findings and remediations to senior management 
  • Analyze investigations data for trend, areas of improvement and hot-spots within the organization 
  • Conduct sensitive internal investigations under privilege into potential violations of law, regulation, company policy, and other ethics and compliance matters 
  • Develop investigative plans coordinate with key stakeholders, gather physical, electronic and testimonial evidence, analyze data, make credibility assessments 
  • Provide concise, practical and actionable advice and recommendations on remediation and operational improvements to the business informed by investigative findings and root cause analysis 
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports of the highest quality 
  • Strengthen the company’s anti-retaliation efforts by identifying and investigating retaliatory behaviors, and by reassuring instigative participants of our anti-retaliation policy 
  • Partner in designing and implementing effective ethics & compliance, including program governance frameworks and tools to automate processes 
  • Support Lucid’s ethics & compliance programs, ensuring workflows are functioning as intended, and addressing requests / issues as they arise 
  • Make broad recommendations on improving ethics & compliance processes, procedures and controls 
  • Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities 
  • Assist in designing and implementing employee training and communications on compliance related topics, policies, and/or procedures 
  • Identify, develop, and track KPIs for the programs 
  • Periodically and as needed help prepare reports or presentations for executives and the Board of Directors 
  • Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes 
  • Design or implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards 
  • Work with counterparts throughout the organization to operate and promote both programs 

 

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field required
  • JD with active bar registration 
  • 8-10 years total of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing key parts of Ethics and Compliance or Internal Investigations programs 
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to Ethics & Compliance and/or Internal Investigations 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate key program concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff 
  • Extraordinary responsiveness, who immediately and urgently addresses critical time-sensitive issues 
  • Successful experience working, collaborating, and establishing credibility and relationships with senior leadership, colleagues, and clients throughout the world 
  • Demonstrated success working with internal audit, external auditors, outside consultants, and Legal 
  • Demonstrated experience executing large-scale projects 
  • CIPP or CCEP certification highly desired

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

 

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$205,600$301,510 USD
