Job Title: Manager Work Management 

Way of Work: Hybrid (Two days per week in-office, 3 days per week remote)

Location: Columbus, OH - Arena District

 

Job Summary 

Leads a team managing all applicable operations work and provides critical support for state operations execution. Direct reports include scheduling leaders and/or team leaders with staff providing assigning/dispatching, clerical and administrative work management support. Responsibilities include oversight of work management activities including scheduling, assigning, work prep, emergency response, incident management, operations, system operations, substation, and construction. Ensures effective scheduling, prioritization, and assignment of operations work, manages customer programs and QA/QC efforts within the department to meet compliance dates and provide exceptional customer service. Develop and maintain close partnerships between key organizations to drive successful outcomes. Sustain joint accountability and shared metrics with these key business partners to ensure alignment between organizations. Driving for results, leading change, and strategic thinking will be crucial for success. Provide strong and inclusive leadership in a manner that engages and empowers employees, establishes a culture of trust and accountability, and creates a strong pipeline of talent 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead and provide direction for overall execution of NiSource corporate vision and objectives 

  • Support change within the organization to accomplish corporate goals, realize cost savings and implement process improvements 

  • Accountable for oversight of effective scheduling of a mobile workforce 

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and regulatory requirements 

  • Provide visible, active and calm leadership during critical events. 

  • Collaborate with other leaders during incidents to ensure business continuity and exceptional response. 

  • Perform ICS role as established by NiSource. 

  • Drive accountability for compliance across all NiSource states 

  • Collaborate, drive consistency, and communicate with business partners on key strategic and operational matters 

  • Set expectations to build and maintain close partnerships with operations and planning teams to ensure success 

  • Provide effective communication, motivation, guidance, training, and knowledge to your team  

  • Manage financial and departmental targets 

  • Identify, implement, and use technology for managing work 

  • Develop and implement plans to ensure elevated customer satisfaction levels 

  • Create a culture of open minded and change driven leaders 

  • Build a pipeline of talent through growth and development of leaders 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications for Position 

  • Bachelors' Degree or equivalent work experience 

  • Prior supervisory experience 

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers and build strong collaborative partnerships 

  • Ability to facilitate consensus across multiple teams 

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to drive execution 

  • Ability to lead teams through significant change 

  • Proven ability to build organizational talent and create highly successful teams 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

  • Working knowledge of PC applications 

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Working knowledge of operations systems (i.e., DIS, CIS, WMS, Maximo, NiFast, ARCOS, Ventyx, MDT, WLRS, Workbrain, Greenroads, etc.) 

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years of operations experience

Salary Range:

$125,800.00 - $188,600.00
