Who are we hiring?

The Show Technology Department oversees the technical aspects of the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, from inception to operations. The Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing technical solutions for Radio City and the Christmas Spectacular. The Manager Show Systems Technology will oversee key areas including Show Control, Projection, and Video, ensuring they are performing optimally to support operations and keeping pace with industry trends. The Manager Show Systems Technology will utilize their mix of theatrical design and technical knowledge as well as a willingness and ability to learn and stay abreast of new innovations in entertainment technology. 

What will you do?

  • Manage Show Technology projects for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular
  • Integrate new technology into the Christmas Spectacular, working cross-functionally with internal teams including Creative, Venue, Productions and Union Crew, as well as external vendors including integrators, manufacturers and content creators.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to support seamless integration of show technology into the Christmas Spectacular. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal teams and external vendors.
  • Assist in the development of documentation of existing and future show systems to support both ongoing operations and maintenance along with capital projects planning.
  • Train and support internal staff with operation of show systems at Radio City.
  • Support year-round Rockette programming, including auditions and dancer development programming.  
  • Support Show Technology needs for future Radio City and Rockette productions and events. 

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5-7 years of theatrical or live event experience.
  • Must have experience with support, design, and integration of technology solutions in theatrical, or live event environments including Media Servers, Projection Mapping, Show Control and Networking.
  • Strong research, project management and communications skills with respect to technology operation for theatrical productions and live events. 
  • Skilled with Digital Drafting, and experience with creating and maintaining systems documentation including line diagrams and rack elevations. Preferred experience with AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and ConnectCAD.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and document new technologies in a streamlined method and help to introduce such to new productions and end users. 
  • Networking – Experience with network architecture and support in live theatrical environments with show critical functions. Preferred experience, certification and/or training in: Cisco Networks (CCNA) and Entertainment protocols (SMPTE 2110, Dante, ArtNet, ACN) in support of shows and live events. 
  • Visual Systems – Advanced knowledge of Media Servers, LED Displays, Projection Mapping, Digital Media Formats, Distribution, Image Processing, Camera Calibration Systems. Preferred experience, certification and/or training in: 7th Sense Delta/Actor, Disguise, Scalable, OmniCal, Blacktrax.
  • Control Systems – Experience with Show Control Systems, Synchronization (SMPTE LTC, OSC, MIDI), Wireless Protocols. Preferred experience, certification, and/or training in: Medialon Show Manager, Wireless DMX, WiFi, RF Coordination. 
  • Staging and Rigging Systems – Familiarity with rigging and scenic automation systems preferred.
  • Live Audio – Familiarity with live audio reinforcement system concepts is preferred.
  • Must be well versed in working with production teams to verify technical needs of specific show elements and requirements. 
  • Must be able to perform management duties such as working with budgets, timelines and deliverables to manage short term and long-term projects, evaluate new technologies, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements. 
  • Experience working in a technical position with supervisory responsibilities in a Touring Event, Live Event Venues, Media and Entertainment, Live Productions, Theatrical Productions, or live audience experiences desired. 
  • Experience with media asset management, archiving, administration of assets and access rights preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written, demonstrative, presentation, and listening.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays.

Pay Range

$96,000$155,000 USD
