Job Summary

As the Manager of Shipboard Accounting, you will oversee onboard accounting and reporting processes and procedures. We seek an organized and driven individual to join our growing team.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for managing and improving the onboard accounting and reporting processes and procedures in coordination as required with the onboard Finance team, and the Revenue accounting Team.
  • Cruise Revenues generated in the reservations system, and the corresponding customer deposits
  • Revenues generated on board during the voyage (and the payment transactions to reconcile)
  • Inventory accounting cycles and reconciliations
• Proposes new processes and/or amendments in coordination with the Senior Accounting Director (Including system integrations to the ERP)
• Documentation of accounting processes, and creation of policies and procedures to comply with internal audit requirements
• Drive  process improvements to help shorten the monthly accounting deadlines
• Involvement in Projects (system upgrades, improvements of accounting processes, system replacements etc.)
• Involvement in Audit processes (external and internal), as well as Internal control procedures to establish and document

Competency

Education:  

• degree in Finance and/or Accounting (Master's or equivalent is preferred)

Skills & Experience

• 10 years of experience in the Cruising Sector
• Fluent English
• Excellent PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office software
• Ideally experience with the cruise industry systems widely used for purchasing and revenues (MXP, Fidelio, etc.)
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent organization and follow-through skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Able to meet deadlines
• Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness
• Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
