Manager, Revenue (Houston Hybrid or Remote)

The Manager, Revenue will serve as a strong leader of a diverse team of revenue accountants at various levels while setting a good example and being an effective partner throughout the organization. We are looking for a high-energy, hands-on and skilled individual that have in-depth technical revenue accounting knowledge of ASC 606, Internal Controls, excellent business acumen and operational knowledge.

A Day in the Life of the Manager, Revenue:

  • Be a strong and motivating leader of the revenue accounting team
  • Ensure revenue recognition in company financials is in accordance with ASC 606
  • Interpret revenue arrangements, prepare revenue checklists, assess and summarize revenue implications, and document conclusions on revenue recognition treatment for all contracts in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare revenue financial forecasting and planning, including quarterly, annual revenue forecast, and Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) forecast
  • Working with cross-functional teams, such as Legal, Sales, Deal Desk standardize contract languages
  • Manage monthly revenue accounting close efforts, including all aspects of revenue accounting close, such as cut-off procedures and review required disclosures for EMEA transactions (RPO and Revenue recognized from opening deferred revenue balance) and support revenue and deferred revenue account reconciliations
  • Maintain control documentation for revenue related processes and key controls
  • Research accounting guidance and facilitate technical accounting memos that analyze and conclude on accounting issues and its impact on company financials. Analyze and interpret accounting standards to support new business requirements
  • Liaise with external auditors regarding revenue and proactively resolve all revenue-related issues
  • Provide support to any special and ad-hoc projects

Required Qualifications - About you:

We are looking for candidates who possess the rare combination of the following achievements, skills and behaviors:

  • 5-8 years of relevant revenue accounting experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP revenue standards and related pronouncements and experience in their application for revenue recognition
  • Revenue FP&A experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with advanced Excel skills
  • Strong leadership skills and high degree of business and technical proficiency and judgment are essential
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting and system issues
  • Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across multiple levels, functions, and locations

Highly Preferred:

  • Experience with SalesForce.Com, Workday ERP system
  • At least 2 years of public company software revenue recognition experience
  • Proficient in French
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Active CPA qualification
  • At least including at least 3 years of experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm
