JOB SCOPE
Manage all associated Inside Plant activities. Manage staff responsible for the reception, and distribution of off-air transport programming utilizing coaxial cable, and fiber optic transmission technologies. Manage all Critical Infrastructure design and installation. This includes the installation, construction, operation, and repair of all equipment associated with the Headend, Hub, Colocations and Optical Transport Network (OTN) facilities. Provide direction on day-to-day activities. Manage on-call rotation as necessary. Responsible for Employee lifecycle, including performance management of staff. Assist in the capital and expense forecasting processes. Support Enterprise end user turn up and activations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

  • Develop an effective Inside Plant Operations team and assist them with developing their skills and process adherence as to drive a high-performance culture and environment.
  • Ensure structured, consistent, and disciplined execution of work tasks.
  • Ensure all cabling, equipment installation, power and cooling follows corporate TQA standards.
  • Ensure field compliance with corporate standards, as well as Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations.
  • Ensure ongoing training for technical personnel.
  • Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.
  • Participate in preparing and executing capex/opex forecasting.
  • Notify senior management of activities and issues.
  • Handle and resolve difficult issues.
  • Set priorities for leads and participate in the review of performance of staff.
  • Ensure all required logs, records and other documentation follow company and FCC technical requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining support and upgrade critical infrastructure hardware, including but not limited to AC/DC power systems, HVAC systems and fire suppression.
  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Know, understand, and follow company policies.
  • Perform other duties as requested by leadership.


BASIC / MINIMIM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum eight (8) Engineering or electronics works exerience
  • Minimum two (2) Project Management experience
  • Must be able to work the following schedule: Monday thru Friday from 8AM - 5PM


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to use handheld communication devices and applications
  • Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
  • Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting
  • Ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections
  • Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers
  • Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as ladders) within the maximum limitations of that equipment)
  • Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
  • Ability to read general system layouts from blueprints and system maps
  • Ability to operate appropriate computer, software or test equipment associated with position.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
  • Demonstrated in-depth proficiency of designing, installing, and maintaining critical facility systems and service delivery equipment for all products
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum two (2) years of Management or leadership experience
  • Desirable: CCNA, CCDA
  • Knowledge of company products and services
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code
  • In-depth understanding of and demonstrated ability to teach Optical designs, (DWDM) and IP networking
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
