The Growth and Retention Marketing team is unlocking the vast amount and huge SEO potential of Shutterstock’s portfolio of amazing brands. We are looking for a strategic content lead who can combine business acumen, technical and analytical skills with top-notch relationship management skills to meet and deliver on content SEO, SEM, Affiliate, and programmatic content needs for our Shutterstock.com domain and brands in our portfolio.
You will directly report to the Senior Director, Growth and Retention Marketing and actively partner with this individual to seamlessly execute a robust content roadmap for Shutterstock.com, working in close collaboration with Growth Marketing leads to align content strategies across channels.
Responsibilities:

Content Strategy & Execution: Utilize data analysis and business strategy to analyze the competitive search landscape, identify the total addressable market, and create and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent publication and optimization of high-quality SEO content that drives revenue.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with SEO, SEM, Email, and Affiliate leads to align content initiatives, ensuring comprehensive support for campaigns and optimization opportunities across all channels.

Landing Pages & Programmatic Content Solutions: Partner with engineering teams to implement scalable landing pages and programmatic content solutions, ensuring a seamless user experience and maximizing traffic potential.

SEO Optimization: Implement on-page SEO strategies, including optimizing meta tags, headers, and internal linking structures. Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices to keep the content strategy relevant and effective.

Content Audits & Maintenance: Conduct regular data-driven content audits to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement (this must be a data-driven, sophisticated process). Manage and execute a content maintenance program to keep our content fresh and in accordance with Google’s guidelines.

Training & Leadership: Provide SEO training and guidance to content creators and other team members to promote a culture of SEO awareness within the organization.

Content Tools & Innovation: Innovate in developing SEO content briefs, leveraging AI safely and ethically. Partner with SEO engineers to develop viral content and tools to elevate topical authority and engagement

Data Manipulation Tools: Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and SQL

Data Visualization Tools: Looker, Looker Studio, or Tableau

Project Management: Jira, Trello, Asana
Qualifications:
-
6+ years of experience in SEO, with a focus on content SEO.

Experience in enterprise SEO projects websites with 5+ million pages.

Proven experience conducting content SEO audits and implementing optimization projects.

Experience working with image SEO or eCommerce sites optimized for image traffic.

Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.

Familiarity with manipulating large datasets using SQL and Python is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Confidence and self-motivation to dive deep into data and produce thorough documentation.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.
The pay range for this position is below:
• 140,000 - 160,000 per year in New York
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
