Overview & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This is a leadership position providing guidance and direction to Global Supply Chain Quality. The GSCQ team is responsible for approval, auditing (Process & Product) and development of the EEE’s supply chain. This is a working manager position that focuses on the day-to-day management of the GSCQ team (6 direct reports). Additionally, it will coordinate and schedule supplier visits for supplier support.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE

A technical bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology.

A master’s degree is preferred in a related discipline.

15 plus years in Quality Assurance with a focus on supplier development & support.

Previous supervision / management experience.

Detailed knowledge of the ISO 9000 series of quality specifications and quality engineering practices are essential.

General knowledge of the various industry standards such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers code, American Petroleum Institute standards and Government standards is needed.

Preferred attributes include:

American Society for Quality Certification. CQA, CQE, etc.

Metrology experience

Experience in LEAN principles and Six Sigma analysis tools, such as 8D methodology.

Knowledge of rotating equipment and turbomachinery.

Knowledge of casting, fabrication and machining practices.
-
Knowledge of “engineered to order”, “low quantity / high mix” business.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES –

Manages necessary supplier pre-inspection meetings / source inspections / final inspections / customer inspections. Also, it may include managing any necessary third-party inspection agencies.

Performs analysis of supplier’s non-conformances and creates action plans for supplier improvement that can include audits, corrective actions and root cause analysis.

Develop and maintain checklist for supplier audits, based on a scaling system.

Maintains a comprehensive supplier quality audit process including the definition of the interfaces of Elliott’s internal departments and customers with the supplier base to control the quality of the complete procurement process.

Manages the supplier qualification program which includes the audit schedule and approved vendor list.

Works with purchasing and other internal teams analyzing and providing solutions to major supplier problems including customer complaints and performs analysis of supplier quality deficiencies and determines the need for corrective actions from suppliers.

Develops training plans and providing career support and guidance of the GSCQ team.

Train team members who need Process and Quality Management System audit training.

Makes decisions related to: Elliott’s ability to meet certain customer requirements, acceptability of Elliott suppliers, acceptability of records and other documentation created internally or from suppliers and related to customer witness notifications.

Conducts regular meetings with Supply Chain (Purchasing) to ensure suppliers are charged for supplier related issues reviewing DSM costs monthly at this meeting.

Modify and Maintain Supplier Quality handbook with the input from Supply Chain ensuring that Ebara Elliott Energy requirements are current.

Develop a Supplier Rating System that includes non-conformances counts, PPM and corrective actions.

This role requires travel that could be up to 50% some months. This includes trips to suppliers located locally, regionally, nationally or internationally).
SUPERVISION
This position has the authority to make decisions related to: employee scheduling, performance reviews and merit planning along with development of the team. This position manages the GSQC team that consist of Technical Supplier Coordinators and Supplier Quality Engineers.
