Our Manager, Category Development plays a key role in shaping data-driven insights and compelling selling stories that drive growth for our premium food and beverage brands. Working closely with Sales and Marketing, this role helps identify opportunities, optimize strategies, and provide actionable recommendations that make a real impact.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys blending analytics with storytelling in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. As part of the Category Development team, you’ll help elevate the insights we bring to our customers, ensuring we are seen as strong business partners while working across a breadth of amazing brands and businesses. This role is based out of our Los Angeles corporate office and follows a hybrid schedule, with in-office work Monday through Wednesday and the option to work from home on Thursday and Friday.
Job Description
The mission of the team is to drive profitable growth by understanding The Wonderful Company’s categories, customers, and consumers better than any of our competitors. The Manager is a key member of the team and is responsible for the following objectives:
- Use data to develop insights and recommendations that can be leveraged for key initiatives, including for use in selling stories.
- Analyze, understand, and provide thought leadership – for category, our brands, competition, assigned channels, and accounts.
- Present actionable insights to sales managers, retail buyers and other internal cross-functional partners..
- Establish partnerships with brand, trade, and sales personnel across all TWC business units.
Qualifications
Skills & experience that are necessary as our Manager, Category Development will include, but not limited to:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category development, shopper insights, consulting, or brand management; CPG or Retail experience preferred.
- Experience with syndicated and panel data services such as Circana, Nielsen, 84.51.
- Space management experience a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; ability to integrate multiple data sets to identify opportunities and make recommendations.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while remaining focused on the end goal
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to explain data and resulting insights clearly and succinctly to internal (i.e., team members, sales) and external (customer) stakeholders.
- Proven success in highlighting key insights or opportunities visually, or in PowerPoint format.
- Possesses a natural mindset for analytics.
- Displays a curiosity about market trends, shopper behavior, and related business processes.
Pay Range: $115,000 - $120,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
