SUMMARY OF THE JOB

Identify and develop business opportunities for the assigned business, focusing on organically growing our business, bringing in new customers, increasing our wallet share, while also evaluating potential merger and acquisition opportunities. The BD Manager should concentrate on developing strategic-channel relationships and work with regional and finance team to develop business cases supporting organic as well as potential inorganic growth opportunities for CAE. The BD Manager will be responsible of the APAC region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Supervise/govern low/medium complexity projects w/ supervision (sim upgrade/ deployment/ relocation/ sim disposal) from kick-off to BB approval

  • work with regional and finance teams to develop business case to support organic
  • potential partnership

•Identify marketplace opportunities, prospect & engage new clients/partners, maintain & grow existing client/partner relationships, lead & develop proposals (through the proposals group) & manage the contracting process

•Develop innovative proposals and deliver strategic BD presentations

•Achieve assigned BD & sales targets

•Shape client and market perspectives regarding CAE capability successfully

•Develop Pursue/No Pursue governance information and execute CAE governance requirements as defined by policy

•Provide management with visibility into key opportunities

•Mentor/develop/coach supporting analysts

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS

Knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

  • University degree preferably in International Trade, Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience
  • Business development as well as mergers and acquisitions experience, an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • A pro-active self-starter who can operate both individually and as part of a team
  • Superior presentation and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High commercial acumen and a record of confidence dealing with middle managers through to decision makers
  • Proven success in prospecting and growing presence within accounts
  • Maintain a positive, keen attitude & a strong competitive drive
  • Excellent teaming skills
  • Client service oriented
  • Strong business acumen
  • Creativity and innovation.
  • Ability to deal with various projects and initiatives at the same time.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, driven work environment
  • Knowledge of aviation market and its procurement process, an asset.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as good presentation skills in English.
  • Knowledge of French, an asset.
  • Excellent project and task management skills.
  • Experience in writing focused briefs, reports, business letters and business plans.
