Position: Machine Operator II - Tack & Nail

Shift: 2nd, 2p-10p
Pay: $20.44 / HR + .75 Shift Diff

Position Summary:
We are seeking individuals who have experience in operating various types of manufacturing equipment for our operations at our manufacturing facility in Hartselle, AL. We are looking to hire people who have experience in a manufacturing environment and can work in a team setting. You will be working in the Tack & Nail Department.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and compliant work area
- Meet or exceed all safety requirements established by Sonoco and regulatory agencies
- Maintain or exceed productivity levels per customer specifications and plant goals
- Adhere to all quality standards and procedures
- Maintain accurate records
- Participate in scheduled team meetings and contiueous improvement projects
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow standard operating procedures and area specific instructions
- Train other employees as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents in English
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of computer applications
- Verbal & written communication skills
- Problem solving & decision making skills
- Teamwork
- Detail oriented
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to bend, reach, twist, push, pull, stand, sit, and walk throughout the day
