Job Description
RESPEC’s Data and Technology Services business unit (DTS BU) seeks a mid-level Systems Administrator to work with our Department of Energy (DOE) client.
- Maintains and administers an archive/backup/and disaster recovery solution/system on Windows, Linux, and Solaris using Bacula
- Administers Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Solaris Servers including support of web servers, file servers, execution servers, database servers, document management server and software
- Proficiency in accomplishing tasks via command line in Linux
- Assists in managing Dell Linux clusters
- Assists in maintaining and administering network connectivity between geographically separated client offices
- Programs and manages network switches, routers and firewalls
- Maintains and provides monthly as well as special requested documentation pertinent to the set up and maintenance of computer systems and their software
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline and a minimum of 3-4 years of experience; OR 6 years of related experience in lieu of a non-technical Bachelor’s degree
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Current DOE L/Q or DOD Secret or Top Secret or ability to obtain a security clearance
- Travel up to 25% monthly
- Willingness to learn new technologies and to earn applicable IT certifications
Preferred:
- Proficiency in scripting on all platforms: Bash, Bourne, C-shell and Python on the Solaris and Linux systems
- Installing and maintaining Oracle Grid Engine on Solaris and Slurm on Linux
- Compiling Fortran and C applications on Solaris and Linux
- Knowledgeable of parallel computing structure.
Additional Information
Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
