THE POSITION
Keyera is currently seeking a Pipeline Operator to join our Liquid Infrastructure team. The LI Pipeline Operator is responsible and accountable for the safe operation of Keyera’s LI pipelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Monthly pig runs on the C5 system segments.

Responsible for N2 Purges of pipelines

Work with Engineering on cut outs, major tie ins.
-
Responsible for “drain downs” and “flood ups.”

Work with the Product Quality Specialist to help with any product QC issues.

Perform leak detection testing.

Work with Projects on new systems, N2 Purges, line fill and commissioning.

Work with Integrity on pipeline defects or anomalies.

Perform Dead Leg Flushing

Communicate with all areas to trouble shoot any areas of concern.

Support in development and review of procedures.

Prompt response to Alberta One Calls and pipeline locates as required.

Supervision of Third-Party Construction ensuring pipelines exposed by third-party activity are visually inspected and have proper crossing agreements.

Pipeline patrolling of both ROWs and crossings with proper surveillance technologies conducted at a frequency required by AER.

Maintain adequate vegetation control.

Retain reports for ROW inspection & maintenance, aerial surveillance & depth of cover surveys.

Training: Maintain required safety tickets such as Ground Disturbance Level II, and as per CMDS Profiles
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar role within pipeline/well operations.

Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment.

Team player with the ability to listen, learn, share knowledge, and demonstrate diligence in following process and procedures.

Self-starter who can work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Proven communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Highly organized, reliable individual with good attention to detail.

Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG, Ground Disturbance and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.

A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).

This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the face piece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.
