Your Mission:
As Legal Operations at AfterShip, you’ll deploy your project management skills to ensure that the Legal Department is operating at top efficiency in order to support our business. Additionally, you will identify and develop processes to ensure smooth operating procedures with other departments of the business.
This is a high-impact position within the Legal Department which will allow you to interface and collaborate with many teams across the company. Reporting into the General Counsel, the coverage for the role is global, which may necessitate some work outside of regular office hours for meetings or in order to collaborate with colleagues in APAC and the Americas. Any meeting outside of regular business hours is planned with reasonable advance notice and taking into account time zone differences to reduce disruptions.

What You’ll Do:
- Paralegal Support: Assist the legal team with drafting, reviewing, and managing a variety of legal documents, including contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and compliance reports. Support due diligence processes, manage legal filings, and ensure that legal records are organised and maintained effectively.
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of contract management systems, ensuring legal contracts are executed efficiently, tracked, and stored properly. Develop processes to streamline workflows related to contract review and approval.
- Project Management: Lead and manage cross-departmental projects that involve the Legal Department, ensuring seamless collaboration and integration with other business units such as Sales, HR, and IT. Coordinate and monitor project timelines, deliverables, and objectives to drive successful execution.
- Process Improvement: Identify and develop procedures to enhance the Legal Department’s operational efficiency. This includes optimising workflows, implementing legal tech tools, and ensuring compliance with company-wide processes and systems.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with internal teams to leverage company-wide technological tools for the Legal Department. Ensure that the Legal Department uses the same project management and collaboration tools as other departments, such as document automation, e-signature platforms, and workflow management tools.
- Data Management & Reporting: Track key legal metrics, such as contract turnaround times and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop dashboards and reports for the General Counsel and other stakeholders to provide insights into legal operations and department performance.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Support the Legal Department in managing external legal vendors, monitoring legal budgets, and negotiating fees where necessary. Track and report on departmental expenditures.
Who We’re Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a legal operations professional, paralegal, project management specialist or in a similar role within a corporate or in-house legal environment. Familiarity with corporate, contract, and other legal concepts is a plus.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects in tandem, ideally in a legal or corporate setting, with the ability to coordinate across different departments and stakeholders. Familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
- Strong background in creating and refining processes to improve efficiency, particularly in legal operations, contract management, and document workflows. Experience implementing or managing legal tech solutions is a plus.
- Ability to leverage and integrate various technological tools (e.g., e-signature, document automation, and case management software) to enhance legal operations. Experience with Google Suite and platforms like DocuSign, Ironclad, or similar legal tech systems preferred.
- Ability to track and report on key legal and operational metrics. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in tools like Google Sheets, Excel, or reporting software to generate insights and reports.
- Experience working closely with departments such as Sales, Finance, HR, and IT to align legal processes with broader company operations. A collaborative approach to building partnerships across teams.
- C1/C2 English level required.
