About the role
The Legal Operations Manager will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department by implementing streamlined processes and ensuring compliance with internal policies and requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong paralegal skills and experience with legal operations, and process optimization. Additionally, the role will require a track record in handling collections, defaults, and creditors' rights, with proficiency in legal documentation, filings, and automation tools.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cutting-edge, automated processes to streamline the collections and litigation lifecycle.
• Develop and implement legal department processes, workflows, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
• Lead and supervise a team of paralegals and support staff to improve collaboration and operational efficiency.
• Spearhead hiring processes, including conducting interviews and making final recommendations, ensuring an optimal team structure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Risk, Finance, and HR, to align legal operations with business goals.
• Provide real-time support and guidance to paralegals, enhancing team performance and operational agility.
• Optimize relationships with external counsel, ensuring cost control and effective management of legal matters.
• Facilitate departmental communications, including monitoring and responding to emails with courts, attorneys, and factoring companies to maintain legal compliance and operational continuity.
• Oversee legal matters related to collections, defaults, and creditors' rights within the MCA and small business lending space.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including motions, liens, and settlement agreements, focusing on speed and accuracy.
• Manage the end-to-end uncontested legal processes, from filing to resolution to achieving favorable and timely outcomes.
• Stay updated on legal trends and regulatory changes in commercial litigation, MCA, and small business lending, ensuring compliance and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A JD or MBA is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in legal operations, compliance, or related roles within a financial services company or law firm.
• Strong understanding of financial services regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
• Experience with legal technology platforms and process automation tools.
• Proficiency in handling collections, defaults, and creditors' rights, with expertise in drafting legal documents and filings.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a process-driven approach to legal work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
• Familiarity with the UCC and specifically Article 9.
• Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Box and Acrobat.

Salary Range
90k - 130k
