The Sales Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for developing and curating approaches, tools and resources to maximize the effectiveness of the sales and other customer-facing, revenue-generating teams. This role focuses primarily on getting new hires/transfers ramped up and productive within 90 days and on track to drive new and/or recurring revenue while leveraging a well-defined programmatic approach. This role goes well beyond traditional learning and development approaches as it is centered on the learners’ demonstrable skills-based performance across key milestones. Must actively support quota attainment alongside sales management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Leverage and continuously refine existing programmatic structures
- Locate necessary information to build and curate training content for onboarding new hires across sales and other revenue-generating teams including ongoing training support
- Ensure that enablement resources are well-prepared, organized, widely/easily accessible, distributed, maintained and current, according to programmatic standards
- Partner with Marketing, Sales Operations and Sales Managers and other leaders to identify skills gaps and determine training needs
- Partner with Marketing, Product Management and Sales leadership to prepare and/or contribute directly to the production of online courses, facilitation materials, video tutorials, call scripts, battle cards ensuring brand visual standards are maintained
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Demonstrated ability to effectively/successfully sell to/upsell/expand accounts, consult, influence, persuade, and mentor others (previous B2B direct sales experience preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years’ prior experience in Sales Enablement and/or Sales Training including the ability to diagnose issues/barriers to sales success and mentor/coach others as appropriate
- Knowledge of sales enablement, actionable sales training, and applied sales methodologies and processes for SaaS companies with longer, consultative sales cycles, preferred
- Engaging presentation style and effective group facilitation skills, whether virtual or in person plus a strong, well-defined presence online (asynchronous)
- Proven ability to manage training projects from concept to completion and multi-task, managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability in managing multiple roles/cohorts at various training and development stages, simultaneously
- Strong strategic, conceptual and analytical thinking and decision-making skills; skilled at proving learning is effectively applied without the use of quizzes
- Self-motivated and highly driven to produce results; comfortable with a high degree of cross-organizational visibility and able to maintain strong credibility
- Excellent organization, project management, collaboration, mentorship, and communication skills with others, including sales management and senior leadership
- Proven track record of success in fast paced work environments; strong sense of perseverance/determination
- Experience with LMS or LXP platforms to manage all aspects of the training and enablement lifecycle, including skills documentation, certification attainment and other forms of proof if successful applied learning
- Ability to travel 10%-15% of the time, including overnight/multi-day stays
