Rijeka Gateway d.o.o. (RGW), a joint venture between A.P.Moller-Maersk Group through APM Terminals and ENNA Group through ENNA Logic, is reaching the final stage of the big project: building the high-tech Rijeka Gateway Terminal.
We've worked hard to make it happen, and soon we'll start running the new container terminal. Our main goal now is to make sure everything runs smoothly when we kick off operations. As the LEAN Lead, you will be responsible for implementing elements and improvements delivered by the Way of Working program and be the change manager. The purpose of this position is to:
- Conduct Lean for all trainings and other programs of way-of-working in the terminal and commit to execute kaizen events at site.
Principal accountabilities:
- Play a key role in the roll out of Lean for All Program and policy deployment by supporting and mentoring new employees.
- Conduct Lean for All Program training sessions.
- Conduct other trainings of way of working programs (VSM, PD, TWI, etc).
- Understand, practice and commit to master kaizen event.
- Use Lean tools to quickly eliminate waste in our terminal.
- Standardize the resulting process at Gemba.
- Keep attendance and other records.
- Conduct evaluations to identify areas of improvement.
- Monitor employee performance and response to training.
- Develop training material based on the development of the Lean for All Program, participant feedback and ongoing training maturity.
- Work closely together with important local stakeholders.
- Comply with the company’s HSSE regulations, policies, and practices.
- Execute other tasks assigned from time to time by management or immediate supervisor related to the development or execution of the business of the company.
Reporting and Scope:
- The position reports to Lean Manager.
- Geographical Scope: Rijeka, Croatia with possibility to support other terminals.
Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in managing training processes with proven strong facilitation (e.g. workshop or training sessions) skills.
- Knowledge of related industry environments as an advantage.
- Previous experience with Training tools and systems.
- Fundamental experience or strong interest in the core elements of Lean principles.
- Experience with an Operating System, and, Lean is an advantage, not a requirement.
Skills:
- High discipline – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and capable work across different locations and cultures.
- Proven strong skills in influencing, training and coaching team members.
- Requires strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Global / cultural adaptability and ability to drive change.
- Ability to make impactful communication and exercise leadership without authority.
- Leadership experience or identified leadership talent preferable, but not a must.
- Ability to work under pressure, anticipates potential problems and diagnoses, evaluate and resolve problems as they happen in order to meet process performance objectives and deadlines.
- Must be comfortable with financial procedures & reporting tools & methods to be able to analyse financial benefits to the terminal of initiatives.
- Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyse data.
- Excellent English and Croatian written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
- University degree with relevant professional qualification, or similar.
- Lean methodology applicable education/certification is an advantage.
