AppExchange Partners extend the power of Salesforce by helping customers solve business challenges via independent third-party applications built to work with the Salesforce Platform.  In this role, you will develop impactful, strategic insights to enrich and expand the ability of independent third-party software vendors (ISVs) to build and go to market with applications for Salesforce customers.  This role supports new product creation, application development, listing, monetization, and customer purchasing and downloading across various platforms and Marketplaces, such as the AppExchange.

Responsibilities:

  • Scope and drive research projects that inform product strategy, design, and development, in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Conduct generative and evaluative research using a mixture of large-scale research methods (surveys, unmoderated testing, behavioral data analysis, etc.) and small-scale research methods (interviews, moderated concept testing, etc.)

  • Synthesize research findings into insights and recommendations and work with stakeholders to socialize these findings

  • Partner fully with product owners, designers, engineers, and other researchers to provide the best possible experience for our users and customers

  • Create narratives to frame problems and highlight the business value of potential solutions

  • Be a strategic business partner to key executives, helping shape their long-term vision

  • Work on fast-paced projects, requiring attention to detail and working within constrained timelines

Required Experience / Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience conducting research in user experience, product design, or technology contexts

  • Proven track record influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights

  • Ability to plan, design, execute and communicate both strategic and tactical research engagements

  • Ability to structure and lead internal and external workshops or design studios and analyze the outcomes to provide insight for stakeholders

  • Expert understanding of research methods (qualitative and quantitative) and best practices

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g. design, product management, engineering)

  • Comfortable with basic statistical methods and concepts, and experience working with behavioral signals data

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills

  • B.A./B/S, M.A./M.S. or Ph.D. in a research- or business-focused discipline or in a field emphasizing human behavior (e.g., Psychology, Anthropology, HCI, Business, Research Methodology, Experimental Design, Design Research)

  • Preferred: Previous research experience in enterprise SaaS and/or technology

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200,800 to $276,100.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
