Position Purpose:
Seeking a world-class Lead Engineer - Quality to join our Supply Chain Technology team. Specifically, this role will report to the Director, Engineering. The Lead Engineer - Quality provides mentorship and guidance to other engineers, helping them develop their skills and advance their careers. They plan, organize, and direct engineering efforts, ensuring they are completed on time and to specification. They work closely with other departments and stakeholders to meet project objectives and ensure quality outcomes. Lead Engineers address complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
90% – Delivery & Execution:

Knowledge of various testing methodologies, approaches, and where to apply them.

Ability to write a test strategy & plan that supports proving out the coded and package solution is fit for use.

Ability to write & review testing materials from a test plan, and scripts and provide feedback to engineers.

Ability to leverage different testing techniques from unit, functional, regression, and performance testing.

Ability to design and improve test frameworks that support automated coding to test systems.

Ability to design and improve test data solutions for testing purposes.

Strong knowledge of two or more coding languages to support automated testing.

Experience in various testing frameworks and how to apply them.

Ability to leverage testing as a part of CI/CD pipelines including tools like Jenkins etc.

Strong project management skills to ensure overall quality processes are being met while supporting delivery timelines.

Lead software engineers to build quality software with quality in mind through unit tests, integration tests, and manual validations.

Lead quality analysis on data to determine trends or issues with plans to remediate and fix.

Participate to a wider test center of excellence.

Effective stakeholder communication from internal in the team and external on the progress of the software and package being ready per the testing plan.
10% – Team & Talent:

Lead a team to ensure that quality is forefront of delivery.

Coach, mentor and guide other software engineers on the importance of quality.

Lead and teach others about testing framework usage and application

Lead learning activities across the organization.
Desired Qualifications & Experiences:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering fields, or equivalent experience.

6-8 years of relevant work experience in software engineering & technology.

Proven experience in delivering solutions, aligning with business initiatives, strategies and priorities.

Professionally recognized by peers in the team for proficiency within their domain.

Proficiency demonstrating problem-solving innovation and judgement.

Proficiency of current technologies that affect the business.

Ability to drive adoption of technology direction, industry best practices and standards.

Experience leading and providing technology oversight to the assigned functional team.

Proficiency building microservices via Domain Driven Design & Event driven mechanisms.

Experience in building automation using test methodologies like TDD and BDD.

Experience with public cloud offerings.

Experience running end user-facing microservices.
-
Extensive track record of execution that shaped the technology direction of a domain.

Demonstrated understanding of complicated systems.
-
Active participation in professional groups affiliated with a domain.
