About the role
We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to build and lead our DevOps practice. In this role, you will be the primary DevOps engineer, supported by a group of "DevOps Champions"—engineers from development teams with strong DevOps experience and enthusiasm. You’ll take ownership of our infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and cloud strategy, ensuring that our platform scales reliably, securely, and efficiently as we grow.

Your responsibilities
- Leadership & Alignment: Drive cross-functional alignment on the DevOps roadmap, collaborating with teams to prioritize and drive initiatives that enhance developer experience.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Foster a collaborative culture with DevOps Champions across development teams to promote DevOps best practices and mentor team members.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Drive cloud strategy, focusing on reliability, performance, cost optimization, and alignment with business objectives.
- Automation: Lead the design and implementation of automation solutions to improve the efficiency and scalability of development and deployment workflows.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and delivery processes across teams.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and standardize IaC practices using tools like Terraform, ensuring scalable, consistent, and secure infrastructure.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Implement and enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
- Security & Compliance: Embed security into every stage of the DevOps lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and proactive risk management.
About you
Technical Skills
- Expertise in cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or Go)
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
- Advanced knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Thorough understanding of monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Strong grasp of security principles, compliance standards (e.g., ISO27001, SOC 2), and secure infrastructure design.
Soft Skills
- Combine hands-on technical work with planning and mentorship.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Skilled at balancing long-term priorities with short-term.

Compensation at Point will be determined by skills, experience, and geographic location. Point has identified the expected annual base salary for this role at this level based on market by tiers (Region | Location | Market Salary):
- Tier 1 (San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle): $179,400 - $242,600
- Tier 2 (Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego): $152,200 - 205,800
- Tier 3 (All other US metro areas): $143,700 - $194,300
This does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, including equity, benefits, and perks outlined above. At the launch of each position, we benchmark compensation to the appropriate role and level utilizing competitive compensation data from various data sources as references. At the offer stage, we use the signal we received from our interviews coupled with your experience, location, and other job-related factors to determine final compensation.
