Job Description

This role works directly with one of Amcor’s Key Accounts as well as a book of associated accounts. This role provides tactical sales direction and communication strategies while strategically developing accounts to both protect and grow. This individual will work with internal and external stakeholders and leadership to define account-level challenges, establish action plans and execute Account Strategy with precision. This role is focused on share of wallet growth for the key account(s).  

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Geographic Scope: National sales responsibility of a large key account that is the global market leader in their space, national responsibility of associated accounts

  • Annual sales: $50 million or more

Drive for results:

  • Ownership of key account, connecting Amcor’s values of safety. collaboration, accountability, results & outperformance into all aspects of role.
  • Support development of account strategy, align it with leadership and execute it to maintain share of wallet and profitability grow account.
  • Manage account complexities to support customer requirements and anticipate future needs
  • Lead or co-lead key business pitches & negotiations for new opportunities, while demonstrating an ability to think critically, influence decision making and follow through to completion
  • Learn about Amcor, our products, the segment you will play in, the industry and market competition
  • Deliver sales goals including profitable year-over-year growth for assigned territory.

Relationship Management:

  • Build relationships with customers based upon trust and respect
  • Build cross-functional relationships to support the share of wallet growth strategies as well as support the commercialization and onboarding process with other key areas (both internal and external)
  • Ensure Amcor and the Key Account adhere to contractual commitments.  This includes inventory management, and management of quality and service key performance indicators. 
  • Network externally to become familiar with key influencers and collaborators within the industry with a specific focus on co-packers, machine suppliers, OEMs, industry associations

Stakeholder Engagements:

  • Identifies, plans and coordinates valued-added stakeholder engagements to make the customer’s life easier
  • Coordinates Sales Management, R&D, Marketing and Field Service in support of validation trials and customer trials
  • Manages accounts receivable as acceptable levels with assistance from the credit department
  • Work with Strategic Marketing to understand focus areas to meet strategic unmet customer needs
  • Work with leader on the implementation of defined strategy (technology, product management, commercial) for the market and targeted segments

Reporting:

  • Report and communicate current performance achievements in terms of sales and marketing contribution to the business unit for monthly management reporting
  • Drive forecast accuracy for improved business results
  • Responsible for the management of Account Planning, Pipeline management, profitability improvements, and churn management in CRM tool

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of sales or technical experience, preferably within the packaging industry
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally 60% of time.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $94,500 to $118,100; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $94,500 to $141,700 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.Benefits
