Safety
- Ensure safe working practices are developed and maintained within area of responsibility and strive towards a goal of zero injuries
- Perform safety observations during plant visits and share findings and recommendations with plant leadership team. Complete behavioral discussions per month and review results with plant leadership team
- Encourage the reporting of close calls
Main tasks
- Develop, implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators driving continuous improvement
- Work with plant employees to establish standard operating procedures (S.O.P.) and standard operating controls (S.O.C) to provide long-term sustainable improvements in the quality of products and services
- Focus on maximizing productivity and profit, ensuring that the plant manufacture output to plan as cost effectively as possible, ensuring quality standards are achieved and consistently maintained
- Utilize Six Sigma to enhance productivity, reduce scraps, improve quality and enhance the work environment
- Develop annual goals and objectives for process improvement and manage them, in according to operational plans.
- Lead productivity and process improvement projects and prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions
- Take part in the execution of Continuous Improvement Management methodologies
- Work closely with production Supervisors and Machine Leaders and help them to develop skills and competencies in using new tools and sustain improved processes
- Work with Quality Coordinator to identify/qualify/implement product improvements that meets customer’s expectations, with a specific target on losses reduction
SPS (Sonoco Performance system / TPM)
- Drive SPS implementation
- Have a key role in Pillar as part of Focus Improvement (FI) methodologies
Measurables
- Productivity targets
- KPI’s, including but not limited to OEE, scrap, set-ups and minor stops
