We are seeking a driven leader and target-oriented professional for the role of Journal Manager - Frontiers in Communication and Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analytics and Frontiers in Sociology. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will be instrumental in setting and implementing growth strategies to ensure the long-term success of the journal. You will lead your team to achieve ambitious targets, ensuring high performance, effective development, and strong mentorship.
As a team leader, you will manage, train, and mentor a group of specialists, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to achieve their goals. You will foster a high-performance culture, ensuring that team members develop their skills, meet KPIs, and contribute effectively to the journal’s success.
Additionally, your role involves engaging with Chief Editors and editorial boards, nurturing relationships within the research community, and ensuring journal visibility. You will oversee journal budgets, driving financial returns and capacity management, while ensuring alignment with internal departments for scalable operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Journal development: Set strategies to establish them as leaders in their fields, ensuring long-term success.
- Manage, mentor, and train a team of specialists, ensuring their professional growth and success, Provide ongoing support, coaching, and performance feedback to team members, Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring accountability and motivation within the team
- Meet Targets and KPIs: Be accountable at the Specialty Section, Journal, and team-level.
- Lead Team Performance: Drive high performance, effective management, and the development of team members.
- Engage Chief Editors: Serve as the main contact, ensuring strong engagement and performance of the editorial boards.
- Promote Journals: Strengthen relationships with the research community to enhance journal visibility.
- Manage Budgets: Utilize data insights to ensure financial success and effective capacity management.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Align strategies and improve operations for scalability and continuous enhancement.
About You
- Experience in leading or coordinating teams is an advantage.
- Ability to leverage team skills for target achievement.
- Aptitude for processing large information volumes and reacting to urgent situations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines independently.
- Sound judgment with business acumen.
- Decisive and tactful with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (particularly MS Excel).
- Excellence in written and spoken English.
