Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Java Support Developer to join our team. You’ll be involved in solution design/development, support and maintenance of existing applications and contributing to the growth of our Java capability. The successful candidate will assist in delivering business solutions directly for our customers. They must be comfortable with working to technical designs and perform unit testing, integration testing and supporting system and user testing.

Service Delivery:

  • Triaging issues for review and follow up with fellow consultants and developers.
  • Provide support and maintenance for Java solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Java applications.
  • Monitor system performance and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Participate in planning for feature improvements, upgrades and migrations.

Client Interaction:

  • Work with clients to gather requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Assist in providing documentation to ensure clients can effectively use the solutions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest features and updates in Java.
  • Continuously improve your development processes and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for Java development.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and receive constructive feedback to improve your skills.
  • Learn from and support senior developers in their tasks.

Qualifications

Java experience is needed and the need to have worked in a disciplined development environment. Emphasis is on communications skills and teamwork. We encourage interest from young enthusiastic developers with an interest in a fast-track career in a high-energy environment where there is good exposure to modern technologies. 

  • Technical design experience.
  • Hands-on Java development experience, in particular with Spring (minimum of 3 years)
  • Knowledge of web front end frameworks such as Angular is highly desirable
  • Any experience with Azure Web Services or other Cloud-based frameworks is nice to have as this is the direction we are going
  • UK Resident for 5+ years
  • Some client-facing experience is desirable.
  • Experience or internship in a managed services environment is a plus.
  • ITIL Foundation qualification preferred.
  • Basic understanding of service management, working to SLAs, and/or experience of working in an ITIL environment.
  • Additional skills we are looking for include GIT, Jenkins, Maven, Database and SQL knowledge, Tomcat or other container technologies, Unit testing such as Mockito.
