Job Description

We are looking for an IT Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful execution of projects within the assigned Program by managing the initiatives and projects in each portfolio within the organisation structure. Responsible to track and monitor progress and provide reporting to Senior and Executive management on a monthly basis. This role will be accountable for all Projects ranging from MD projects, Strategy projects, Software Development projects as well as Operational projects.  Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for Senior and Executive management regarding status of project. Management and development of Project Managers and Administrators within the portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

Strategic

  • Efficient management of the various projects within an assigned Program

  • Execution of CTO strategy across assigned portfolio

  • Management and monitoring of strategic deliverables via initiatives and projects

  • Reporting to Senior and Executive management regarding status of Program within the portfolio

  • Project budgeting and financial control and monitoring within the Program

Core Responsibilities:

Project Management:

·        Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

·        Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

·        Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

·        Participate in the opportunity management process and provide input in terms of project delivery and costing

·        Creation of project related document to augment new opportunities

·        Ensure resource availability and allocation

·        Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

·        Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

·        Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

·        Report and escalate to management as needed

·        Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders

·        Perform risk management to minimize project risks

·        Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

·        Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

·        Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project

·        Delegate project tasks based on reporting staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels

·        Human resource management of reporting staff and ongoing development

·        Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals

·        Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis

·        Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members

·        Use and continually develop leadership skills

·        Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency

·        Perform other related duties as assigned

·        Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

·        Oversee and manage project managers within a named customer.

·        Review and align process in accordance with ITIL framework and PMO methodologies and Customer orientation feedback

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years Professional Experience based on the job requirements

Professional Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional Agile/ (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus

Years of Experience:

  • 5+ years’’ experience in Project Management and transition experience (would be an advantage)

  • 5+ years’ experience in Customer Relations/Client Management

  • Exposure to major accounts and major projects

  • Report analysis

  • Managing vendors

  • HR management

Technical Skills:

  • Proven working experience in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Conflict and escalation management

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Capable of hands on problem solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions

  • A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities

National Certificate Level 4 (N4) / Grade 12 (Required)
