Job Description:
The International Tax Manager is a part the U.S International Tax function within the Global Tax Organization. In this role, you are responsible for providing U.S tax analysis for Mars' foreign operations, including preparation and review of Mars' U.S federal tax return, supporting cash tax estimates and also supporting tax planning and controversy projects.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university required
- Master’s degree in taxation encouraged
- Certified Public Accountant license or Enrolled Agent license encouraged
- 5+ years of corporate tax experience, including Federal, state, and international tax, with some public accounting experience preferred
- Large corporate multinational tax environment experience financial statement accounting, federal and state U.S. income tax compliance, tax accounting methods, and tax planning;
- Experience in tax process transformation;
- Experience working within a team environment, including with teams in various geographic locations.
- Experience in tax reporting systems (ONESOURCE Income Tax and Provision and Dataflow, GoSystems) with implementation experience preferred;
- Experience in data analytics systems (Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau) with implementation experience preferred;
- Experience using and implementing workflow tools, such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or Smartsheet applications preferred;
What will be your key responsibilities?
The International Tax Manager Is responsible for:
- Preparation and Review U.S. Federal Tax Return Form 5471 and 8858, Form 1118, Form 8992-Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (GILTI), Form 8991 – Base Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT) and Form 8993 – Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII)
- Preparation and Review of the estimate of Mars' 1118 and their Impact on the Global Tax Provision and Cash tax estimate.
- Support the Tax Planning and Tax Controversy groups, providing U.S. Federal advice on planning Initiatives and audit support.
- Project management for special tax projects as needed.
- Perform tax research on complex international tax issues and support the development and implementation of new tax strategies
- Cultivate tax technology and transform the tax process.
- Train and coach tax associates and interns to grow their leadership as well as functional competencies.
- Manage outside consultants as necessary

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
