How you'll make a difference?
We are seeking a motivated and creative Internal Communications Intern to join our team and support our efforts in fostering clear, transparent, and engaging communication across Orthofix. You will work closely with the Sr. Director, Internal Communications to help craft and distribute messages through a variety of channels to ensure employees are informed, motivated, and connected. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in employee communications while contributing to an impactful and dynamic environment.
What will your duties and responsibilities be?
The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.

Develop and launch an internal newsletter template, define the process to collect content, and establish a distribution timeline.

Restructure current intranet to reflect the way employees search for and use information.

Develop templates and a governance model for digital signage.

Develop a communication strategy and calendar and create supporting communication materials to recognize annual cultural/heritage days that reflect our global employee population.

Assist in the creation and execution of internal communications campaigns and initiatives.

Draft and edit internal communications materials, including newsletters, announcements, emails, and presentations.

Support the development of engaging content for the company intranet and other internal channels.

Help track and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication efforts.

Participate in internal events and meetings to capture key updates and ensure they are shared with relevant teams.

Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.

Assist with organizing and promoting internal events, town halls, and team-building activities.

Provide support in maintaining and improving internal communication platforms and tools.

Help manage and organize internal communication archives and resources.
What skills and experience will you need?

Education/Certifications:
To qualify for this internship opportunity, the student must:

Have the legal right to work in the US.

Be currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited university with a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field.

Be in excellent academic standing - minimum cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Obsessive attention to detail.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and internal communication tools is a plus.

Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Positive attitude, proactive approach, and eagerness to learn.
What qualifications are preferred?
The education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above.

Previous internship experience in communications, PR, or marketing.

Experience using SharePoint as an intranet platform.

Familiarity with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus.

Interest in corporate culture, employee engagement, and organizational development.

The anticipated base hourly rate for an employee who is located in California this position is $22.00 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. The Company is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect the pay scale for an employee who works in other states or locations.
