Job Function
Reporting into the Regional Sales and Distribution Manager, the Inside Sales Representative will be based out of Mayfield Heights and will spearhead the development of our inside sales function. This role is critical in driving revenue growth by identifying and nurturing leads, securing/managing smaller to mid-size accounts with significant upside potential, and providing exceptional sales support. They will be responsible for the below responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide proactive sales support and assistance to customers, guiding them through the sales process and ensuring satisfaction.
- Manage relationships with smaller accounts, understanding their needs, challenges, and opportunities.
- Identify and qualify potential leads from various sources.
- Follow up on leads and inquiries to convert them into sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide support throughout the sales cycle, including preparing quotations, proposals, and presentations for potential customers.
- Maintain and update sales documents and CRM system.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and analyses for the sales team and management.
- Monitor sales metrics and KPIs to identify customer order patterns and opportunities.
- Transfer accounts that exceed a certain revenue threshold to Territory Sales Managers for face-to-face sales support. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Work closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve company goals.
- Respond to customer emails, phone calls, and other inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Other duties as required.
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in sales or customer facing role.
- Previous experience in sales support or similar role in a B2B environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with customers effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic sales environment.
- Goal-oriented with a strong desire to achieve sales targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus
- Customer facing role (sales/tech service) in a Manufacturing sector is preferred.
- Generating sales reports and identifying potential opportunities/lost business would be an advantage
- Data management skills, preferably a strong background with excel or other data management tools
- Previous experience utilizing CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
- Familiarity or experience with an ERP system (e.g. Oracle, SAP, etc.) is a plus
- Previous experience with specialty chemicals, especially colorants is a plus
Travel Requirements: Willing to travel as needed (10%)
