Description and Requirements
A Day in the Life of a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Intern at MetLife Legal Plans:
- Partner closely with our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion counsel and various departments within MetLife Legal Plans.
- Help plan, coordinate, and prepare for company DEI events.
- Work closely with our DEI members to communicate upcoming events, create content and create employee interest in company DEI initiatives.
- Utilize MS SharePoint, Viva Engage and other various tools.
- Partner with various departments to support the development and implementation of DEI strategies.
- Assist in creating communication templates and draft messaging for DEI in regard to internal communication.
- Research DEI trends and external best practices to assist in enhancing our enterprise DEI strategy.
- Collect external industry data to inform strategy planning and contribute to execution plans.
- Participate in DEI meetings & provide external perspectives on future enhancements.
- Present an end of assignment project to MLP Leadership, showcasing completed work throughout internship experience.
- Other various duties as assigned.

- Positive attitude and embraces teamwork.
- Autonomy, exceptional organizational skills, flexibility, proactiveness, and strong ability to collaborate.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled in program to pursue a four-year degree in human resources, communication, multicultural studies, business administration, or other related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and build a sense of togetherness that contributes to a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of or experience with MS SharePoint, MS Teams, or other internal communication tools.
- Cultural competency, enabling effective working across diverse populations.
