Summary of This Role

Ensure efficient, accurate, and secure installation of approved changes to applications within respective environments and services. Administer the change control stage gates to ensure facilitation of risk evaluation through the planning and coordination of changes and the implementation of changes to the QA, Verification, and Production environments and services. Understands industry guidelines for IT Change Management, develops high level technical knowledge of the environments and services being managed, possesses strong project management and facilitation skills. Ensure the objectives of the Release and Change Management processes are achieved through evaluation of forecasts with risk mitigation.

What Part Will You Play?

• Assists higher level Deployment Specialists to begin developing knowledge of cross-functional Deployment Teams assigned to a deployment. Helps to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood, mainframe and distributed code migrations are not in conflict, and contingency plans are established.
• Retrieves and processes deployment requests from programmers (typically handles 20% of requests) received via sources as defined in the methodology: Change to Enterprise Mainframe Deployment Management (EMDM), emails, and Change Service Manager to  IBM Control Desk (ICD).
•  Provides support on bulk deployment projects as well as application code releases during the year. Deploys code through the various stages of change-control process for all environments and plexes using the appropriate change management system.
• Develops knowledge of methodology of processing information in all the various environments with special attention to compliance of Release and Change Management processes.
• Mentors and trains Deployment Specialist I's in the handling of day-to-day release requests. Maintains open lines of communication with management.
• Develops and maintains a deeper understanding of basic application systems (e.g. TS1 and TS2, DB2, staging, Information Management Systems (IMS) changes).
• Utilizes system knowledge, which includes all physical and logical aspects in performing verification checks and in resolving technical issues with deployment projects that could create a defect or time delay.
• Develops knowledge of assigned monthly system maintenance windows. Create timelines, manage meetings, and facilitate ongoing activities within scope

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Typically Minimum 2 Years Relevant Exp

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business
• Internal or external experience in a change control environment. Previous Global Payments IT experience (Operations or Applications Development) will be considered
